My new year started off with a bang, getting to photograph Zoe and her fantastic horse Sunny for the second time. I really enjoy this team, Zoe has a lovely way with Sunny, and in turn he tries his hardest for her. Watching Zoe warm up I could see that they had come a long way since I first met them. Zoe confirmed this, explaining they were training almost every night and having regular lessons to work on achieving a better partnership. Zoe and Sunny have also recently joined their local pony club, and she’s hoping to make her way out to more shows and events this year.
Sunny is an 8 year old QH, and Zoe has owned him around 2 years now. Prior to that, he was just a paddock horse who had served a few times and even has 2 foals on the ground. Zoe tells me that amongst many, her favourite quirks about Sunny would be his relaxed and cheeky attitude. She states “he’s a bit of a cool dude and is a wonderful horse that has helped me gain my confidence back slowly.”
Their best memory: Definitely riding through the forest. There is nothing like being outdoors with the kangaroos! That is when Sunny is at his happiest!
