My photo sessions are $195 and this price includes:
Your choice of either an Equine Portrait or Black Series photography session for up to two horses from the same property on location
Phone consultation to learn about your horse/s

A purchase appointment conducted online together, to select your favourite images

Black Background Session
At the heart of my work lies a passion for capturing the essence of your horse, and the black series session is the perfect way to do just that. It's a fine art portraiture session that focuses entirely on your horse, their unique personality, and the traits that make them truly one-of-a-kind.
I take pride in using specific poses that showcase your horse's best features, ensuring that every image is a work of art that you'll treasure forever. But what I love most about these sessions is their emphasis on capturing the unapologetic spirit of your horse - the things that make them who they are.
During the session, your four-legged friend will be the absolute center of attention, and I'll work tirelessly to capture their true essence and spirit. And don't worry, there's no need for fancy backdrops or intimidating equipment - all we need is a simple stable entrance or aisle-way, and perhaps a moderately sized undercover shed or indoor arena.
So, let's create something truly special together. Let's celebrate your horse's unique personality and create a timeless work of art that you'll treasure for years to come. The session itself is fun and laid-back, with all the hard work done by me after the shoot.

REQUIREMENTS FOR BLACK BACKGROUND SESSIONS:
An indoor arena, or an undercover barn/stable aisle is required for these stunning images. Small paddock shelters are not suitable.
The horse is placed at the entrance out of direct sunlight to achieve lovely natural lighting. The majority of the portrait is then achieved through a meticulous editing process.

Your session fee covers your Photoshoot, professional editing of your photos plus a viewing and purchase appointment and a $150 artwork voucher to put toward any artwork of your choosing.

Location and time?
My sessions generally always take place in either the early morning or evening. This is to ensure we capture the beautiful golden hour lighting, which produces a lovely warm glow. Shooting in the middle of the day is not recommended as it throws a very harsh light and induces unflattering shadows.
Ideal locations include a lot of greenery and open spaces. If you are unsure if your location is suitable you are welcome to send me images and I can tell you if it will be suitable. I can generally make many locations work with a little bit of planning on my behalf so don’t worry too much. However if you are comfortable floating your horse to another location with better scenery I am happy to travel. I have numerous locations I can advise on, or am more than happy to work out one with you.
How do I prepare my horse?
Think show ready! Washed, clipped, makeup, oiled hooves. Plaiting isn’t required but it looks very smart. We want to present the best side of your horse that we can. Please ensure your horse is clean and dry, photoshop is a wondrous thing but unfortunately I can not make a dirty horse look clean.
What if my horse has a scar or blemish?
Not to worry I can almost always edit out any blemishes or scars if required however I can't make a dirty horse clean! I cannot edit off thick bridles or halters. If you wish for your horse to appear at liberty I suggest a thin rope halter or a neck rope.
What do i wear?
I always recommend that you choose colours that will compliment your horses coat. Busy patterns and bright colours are not advised, instead think neutral colours such as beige/mustard/sage. A dress is always a must to get those fancier shots, however if you’re not a dress kind gal, a well fitting pair of jeans and a blouse paired with some killer boots look great. Having make up and hair done is highly recommended but I encourage you to feel comfortable above all else. Travel fees?
I cover a radius of 30 kilometres from Para Hills, anything out of that radius, I charge $1 per kilometre, round trip.
How can I pay for my session?
Your session fee is the retainer that is required at the time of booking to lock in your session. Please note your booking will be cancelled and the time slot may be re-advertised should payment not occur within 24 hours.
During your purchasing appointment you can pay upfront through a secure payment portal, Square. Alternatively a lay-by system with PayRight allows you to collect your order and enjoy your artworks as soon as they are printed. Pay from 10% deposit at your purchase appointment and choose to pay off over a 3, 6 or 12 month period. The simple sign-up process is completed at your session. Afterpay is also available.
What happens after my photoshoot? when/where do I see the finished images?
The photo viewing will take place within 2 weeks of your session, on a day we select together, in-person. This is where you get chance to look and pick out the images that you like.
How do I book?
To book your session please click on the button below, you will be directed to my online booking form. After discussing any questions or concerns you may have a digital questionnaire and contract will be sent to you to complete and sign. A digital invoice for your session fee will also be sent to you.
