I was thrilled when Elena contacted me to schedule an equine photography session with her gorgeous TB Gelding horse, Muso. From our initial conversation, it was clear that Elena and Muso shared a deep bond, and I was excited to have the opportunity to capture it in artwork.

Prior to the session, Elena shared with me the story of how she and Muso came to be a pair. "It was a bit of a journey getting Muso!" she said. "After looking for over 12 months to try and find the so called 'perfect horse', we finally found him." Elena explained that Muso was a 14-year-old OTTB that had previously competed 4* eventing.

"My parents and I flew over to Victoria in April of 2022 to go test ride him - on a pretty good gut feeling that he was the one," Elena continued. "Although he doesn’t have 4 white stockings and a big blaze, I was in awe of this horse - how well-behaved, mannered, and sensible he was was breathtaking. As I watched his owner ride him around and show me all of his party tricks, I soon was feeling a sense of doubt in myself and my riding ability. 'How on earth am I going to be good enough to ride a horse like this?!' I was asking myself, but as soon as I sat in the saddle I felt the most confident I have ever felt on a horse."

"A week later, he hopped on a truck and headed to South Australia where he arrived at his new home!" Elena exclaimed. "Getting a new horse is always an exciting, nerve-wracking, anxious time as you begin the journey of adjustment between horse and rider, but with the amazing help of his previous owners, it was the smoothest transition. Since then, he has successfully taken me around my first 95 and 1* and won me multiple rugs; he has given me so many amazing opportunities that I will forever be grateful for."

Throughout the equine photography session, Muso displayed the same well-behaved, sensible nature that had captivated Elena from the beginning. The bond between Elena and Muso was palpable, and I was honored to capture it in photos. As the sun began to set, the lighting became even more magical, and I was able to capture some truly stunning images. From close-up shots of Muso's expressive eyes to wide-angle shots of the two of them together, the photos captured the essence of their bond perfectly.

At the end of the session, Elena thanked me for my patience and professionalism, and I expressed my gratitude for the opportunity to work with such a wonderful pair. In conclusion, Elena and Muso's equine photography session was a beautiful and unforgettable experience. It was an honor to capture their bond in photos, and I was impressed with Muso's calm and gentle demeanor throughout the session. The photos will be treasured by Elena for years to come, and it was a pleasure to work with such a wonderful pair.
